Better Accessibility, 2 New Icon Sets
4 July, 2025
50k+ icons milestone, improved accessibility & 2 new icon sets 👁
We’re back! While working on this update, we realized it’s been 4 months since our last update! We’re sorry for the delay, but time really flies!
In this update, we added not just 1 but 2 new amazing icon sets, growing our icon family to 17 hand-picked icon sets, offering 50k+ icons in a single Framer plugin.
Framer Icons is now used by 9.4K+ users, ranking it among the top 25 plugins in Framer 🚀 Thank you for your continued support 💙
We also improved accessibility and updated all icon sets to their latest versions. Here's everything that's new in
Hidden Aria label to enhance accessibility ♿
While accessibility might not be an exciting topic for many designers, we believe it’s an important area we all should focus on.
Accessibility testing tools like AccessiBi require you to include a “none” role for SVG icons used as decoration, because other content already describes their purpose. We noticed our SVG component was flagged as inaccessible.
We have fixed this, and now all icons pass accessibility tests. This is a key step towards making your Framer websites not only more beautiful, but also accessible.
Please update the Framer Icon component to the latest version if you haven't already done so.
Icon Sets: Welcome to the Family, Untitled UI Icons! 🟣
Here's a fun fact: one of the main reasons I asked my co-founder to start building Framer Icons was so I could easily use Untitled UI icons in Framer! Now we're thrilled to announce that our favorite icon set is available in Framer for the first time! 🎉
Untitled UI Icons is a clean, consistent, and neutral icon library crafted specifically for modern UI design. It used to be Made for Figma in Figma, but it's now available in Framer too!
With 1,171 professionally crafted free icons, you'll never run out of options. Untitled UI Icons Pro offers three additional styles: Solid, Duotone, and Duocolor. Go check it out!
Icon Sets: Welcome Back to the Family, Atlas Icons! 🌄
We've also added Atlas, one of our most beloved icon sets from Notion Icons, to Framer!
Crafted by our good friends at Vector Icons, Atlas is one of the most versatile collections of real-life icons available out there. It features over 2,660 icons across 41 unique categories.
Atlas will be your go-to choice for industry-specific projects where you need consistent icons for particular areas like construction, ecology, fitness, and food & beverages. If you're working on a project or template that could benefit from icons in these—and many more—categories, we highly recommend exploring Atlas in Framer Icons.
Aside from planning some features we know you’ll love, here’s everything we did in this update:
Better Performance, Unified Experience
28 April 2025
Lightning Fast Performance ⚡
“maybe the only thing I'll point to at this point really is speed, sometimes I open the plugin and it's loading for a while but I realize it's doing that because it's loading every icon under the sun hahaha. it's only doing that for like 4-5s btw, but if yr opening Framericons multiple times the loading can get a lil cumbersome”
— Justin
We heard you loud and clear, every second counts in your creative flow. That's why we've set aside our other goals of improving the UI/UX and decided to focus completely on improving the loading speed and performance.
I’ll spare you the technical jargon and just tell you the result in simple English. FramerIcons now launches in just 0.4-1.2 seconds, down from 1.5-2.4 seconds previously that's roughly a 300% speed boost that will save you precious time on every design session, and roughly a 100% faster when you use the plugin for the first.
The speed might of course depends on your internet speed and location, but you’ll definitely feel the difference.
Unified Navigation Experience 🤝
Thanks to the amazing feedback we received from Anand, we've reimagined our entire navigation experience from an end-user perspective and discovered huge room for improvement!
Previously, we maintained each icon set's original structure from the creator's point of view. However, from a user's perspective, this made navigation confusing since the experience varied widely across different sets.
For example, some icon sets lacked style groupings or categories, while others had minimal organization beyond the icons themselves. The naming conventions also varied! Some used "Outlined," others simply "Line." Similarly, some sets used "Fill" while others used "Solid"
What seemed like a simple task—unifying all icon sets' structure and naming conventions to create a more seamless navigation experience—turned into an intensive week-long project with countless iterations and many cups of coffee. But we did it!
We've restructured all compatible icon sets to follow this new format:
We then standardized the naming convention for across all compatible icon sets to:
And we even simplified some of the category names!
Now you can smoothly navigate between icon sets without memorizing different terminologies, enjoy a cleaner view, and perform more efficient searches by filtering through styles or categories. exactly as Anand suggested. Thank you, Anand!
We also believe that this will open the door for a better filtering options when performing a plugin wide searches, If you think this will be helpful please let us know by sharing your ideas.
Icon Sets: Welcome to the Family, Material Icons! 🤖
A few weeks ago I was asked to work on Framer project, I checked the design guidelines, and noticed the company uses Material Icons as their iconography, I also remembered we don’t have that in FramerIcons, so the first thing I said was F***.
And today we're beyond excited to introduce Material Icons to our collection. This comprehensive set brings Google's iconic design language right into your Framer projects.
With 10,610 meticulously crafted icons across 5 unique styles, Material Icons offers unparalleled versatility for any design challenge. Whether you're creating Android-inspired interfaces or just love the clean, intuitive aesthetic, these icons deliver the perfect balance of form and function.
That's not all!
While fine-tuning our performance optimizations (and going back to drinking way too much coffee), we also made these improvements:
